2nd annual Kyoto Plus National Day of Action on Climate Change
St. George’s Square, 2-3 pm
A family-friendly rally, with:
Live music with James Gordon
Street theatre
Bring your message to hang on our clothesline.
Wear something blue, paint your idea on a cardboard fan and wave it in the parade!
Come out and add your voice to our call for action, as our leaders gather in Poland this December to craft a new global climate treaty. Let’s stop our politicians from blocking negotiations, as they did in 2007, and start standing up for climate change.
Help us ‘Cool the Planet’ ! We will parade down Gordon St to 10 Carden St where we will enjoy refreshments.
Please pass on the word, and check out www.climatechaos.net and www.climateactionnetwork.ca to see what other Canadian cities are planning…
Supported by: Council of Canadians, Guelph Urban Forest Friends, Wellington Water Watchers, Sierra Club, Eden Mills Carbon Neutrals, Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, Guelph Environmental Leadership, Unitarian Congregation of Guelph and others.
WWW 2009:
Visioning and Planning
10 Carden Street, 3-4 pm
The rally will be followed by refreshments and a WWW members meeting and planning session at #10 Carden St.
We want your input and ideas at this critical meeting as it will set much of the agenda and priorities for 2009. The steering committee will be presenting a couple of projects to you for feedback but most importantly is the next step.
We want our members to bring forth ideas and projects that they wish to champion and undertake in order to utilize the organization of the WWWs to its fullest. The WWWs will be as successful as the members want it to be, it is your organization. Therefore we really want this meeting to be as much member driven as possible.
We welcome new energy and initiatives no matter how big or small. Some examples may include: school driven programs, workplace initiatives, permit renewal leads, education seminars and public forums, fundraising ideas!
So please come to the Guelph Civic League’s office, at #10 Carden St, at 3pm to participate and help drive the future of the WWWs.
