GUELPH, ONTARIO – The 2012 Fresh Water Jamboree will be held at Riverside Park at the Bandshell on Saturday August 4, 2012, from 11am to 11pm.
The Fresh Water Jamboree is an annual one-day family music festival established to help raise awareness about “fresh water” in Wellington County, the province of Ontario and across Canada. Be The Artist, a Guelph-based organization that promotes musicians and environmental initiatives, launched Guelph’s first “green” music festival in 2008. www.freshwater.betheartist.ca

Hornings Mills ON – For the second year, dozens of artists are gathering in Hornings Mills, north of Shelburne, to capture the landscape threatened by the proposed Highland mega quarry.
The Paint-In ‘At the Headwaters’ is taking place from 11 am to 3pm this Saturday, June 30th at a home on the edge of a small lake in Hornings Mills.

Hundreds of people attended the Wellington Water Watchers’ Two Rivers Festival celebration on Friday June 15th on the banks of the Speed River where it meets the Eramosa. It is the 20th birthday of the special covered bridge and we wanted to honour it in style! James Gordon wrote special music that was choreographed (by Tanya Williams) to dancers in the canoes, he was accompanied by Shannon Kingsbury. Greetings! Now that ‘the lusty month of May’ is here (quoting of course that great song from Camelot!), it’s time for bees & honey!
Our final FAST FORWARD eco-film of 2012 is QUEEN OF THE SUN: What Are the Bees Telling Us? which investigates some possible causes of Colony Collapse Disorder, killer of a truly frightening number of honeybees over the past half dozen years. (Since 40% of all our food depends on our friends the honeybees, this is important!)
