The University of Toronto announced Wednesday that it’s going bottled water free.
Students will no longer be able to purchase bottled water at the downtown campus and the University will phase out the plastic at its Mississauga and Scarborough locations over the next three years.

OPIRG-Guelph is currently in the planning stages of developing a Children’s Ecological Walking Tour of the Speed River.  The tour will be geared towards children ages 7 – 11, and will centre on our local river ecosystem, native trees, plants and animal species, watershed issues and what we can do to protect our urban nature.

Guelph’s Fresh Water Jamboree Festival – This Saturday Aug.6

Fourth year for Guelph’s Fresh Water Jamboree music, art and environment community festival

GUELPH, ONTARIO – The 2011 Fresh Water Jamboree will be held at Riverside Park at the Bandshell on Saturday August 6, 2011, from noon to midnight.

The Fresh Water Jamboree is an annual one-day music festival established to help raise awareness about “fresh water” in Wellington County, the province of Ontario and across Canada. Be The Artist, a Guelph-based organization that promotes musicians and environmental initiatives, launched Guelph’s first “green” music festival in 2008.
