Is it only a contest for students in grades 9 – 12 or can any other grades enter?

This contest will ONLY be for students registered in a high school, or in grades 9 – 12. No junior high school or elementary school entries will be accepted.

How many students can be on one team?

Students can submit individually or as a team. There is no limit to the number of students who can participate in creating a submission for your school. Remember, you must also have one staff member as your sponsor.

What is the role of the sponsor?

The sponsor must be a full-time staff member at your high school. She/he will generally support the team in its efforts to develop the submission, and then approve it for submission, ensuring it meets the criteria and guidelines outlined in the contest rules. The team sponsor is also responsible for providing details about the project to your school’s administration and then demonstrating their consent to have students’ participate, as well as submitting all appropriate consent forms to Wellington Water Watchers.

Who will I or my team be competing against?

An individual or a team can enter a submission if they are from a high school in Wellington County. You will be competing against high school teams from your County.

How many submissions can be entered into the contest from each school?

There is no limit to the number of submissions that can be entered per school.

What does Wellington Water Watchers do with our submission after it is showcased?

All submissions need to be picked up from the River Run Centre at the end of the evening’s events on March 22, 2010. Wellington Water Watchers will have the authority to display any portion of the submission on our web site and through our Water Festival. We will endeavour to have as many submissions as is possible aired on local media sources. If your submission is selected to become part of our touring “WaterFestival”, Wellington Water Watchers will hold on to the piece until the Water Festival has completed it’s tour.  We will be posting all submissions on our Wellington Water Watchers website for the general public to view. We reserve all rights to use your submission in any way we see fit, as well as to use yours or your team name and school in media releases. Please make a copy for yourself.
