Join our Wellington Water Watchers tree planing team!

We want to help increase the tree canopy coverage in and around Guelph to 30% by year 2020, which means we have to double the number of trees that is now planted annually.

The Rotary Club of Guelph has pledged to purchase 5000 trees each year and organize a one-day tree-planting blitz at Guelph Lake with the long-range goal of returning 100 acres to forest cover by the year 2020.

At the Rotary Tree Planting & Earth Day Event on Saturday, April 21, 2018 we want to give staff and members of local businesses, organizations, institutions, church groups, schools, etc. an opportunity to participate in “The Tree Canopy Challenge” and help our community by planting trees. This year, year 11, we will take the opportunity to fill in areas where we have had less than satisfactory survival rates, mainly caused by dry weather conditions during the summer following our planting day.
