Water is the foundation of life and connects all beings. Access to water and sanitation are recognized by the United Nations as human rights – fundamental to everyone's health, dignity and prosperity; Yet, across this province, many go without. Corporations who sell bottled water for profit become the lucrative winners and increasingly our governments, at all levels, neglect the responsibility for public water access while imposing the costs on individuals or service providers. Bottled water is not a sustainable, equitable, or viable solution.
I pledge to find alternatives to bottled water for my personal use and to proactively engage my elected officials to take up the responsibility of providing access to clean, potable water and sanitation for all. Water extraction for corporate profit is unacceptable. Water for Life, Not Profit.
